I came across this lounge chair by Paulsberg. The Spurt chair is made of concrete that has been reinforced with carbon-textile. Although I do find the shape aesthetically pleasing it is the materiality of the piece that really caught my attention.
My MA project considers the design of a high street and using similar materials to this piece could be really interesting. The ability to create long lasting, exciting pieces of furniture is a must for the high street. I like that this material can be used for more organic forms, traditional benches are often too linear for the design aesthetic of the street.
