Untitled (Mylar) is a sculpture by Tara Donovan that was exhibited in New York at The Pace Gallery up until yesterday (9th April 2011). The piece made up of mylar sheets reaches 11 feet tall in places as it undulates across the floor. The sheets are folded to create spheres that are grouped to produce the large organic form.
The photos are great and I would have loved to have been able to see the sculpture in person. I could see the piece really working as a permanent edition to an urban space. The reflections that could be created by activities around the object as well as the changes in lighting throughout the day and night and when lit artificially would be fantastic.
